Tissie’s Blue Bowl

Tissie is a bulldog who is in a wheelchair. I’m on a phone consultation with her person Elisabeth. Upon connecting with Tissie I get a sense of excitement about standing and feel as though I’m a dog and my front “feet” are prancing and bucking. This is what she does when she is excited. I sense the issue is neurological and slowly progressive. Her person confirms this and tells me Tissie is already diagnosed with Degenerative myelopathy. I ask Tissie if she has any questions for Elizabeth. I’m shown a picture of a kitchen, with a door leading to outside and people enter the house this way. There is a male person she wants to come through the door. She used to see him and she wants to know where he is and why he doesn’t come over anymore. Elizabeth tells me Tissie and her ex were very close and he hasn’t been coming by since they aren’t dating anymore and people do enter the home through the kitchen. Elizabeth will try to get a visit soon after he gets back from a trip.  I tell Tissie he would come over in two weeks, because he is traveling. I asked Tissie if there was anything else she wanted to know. I see in my mind’s eye, a dark blue bowl and I feel a fondness for it. I mention Tissie is telling me about her blue bowl, as if she is wondering where it went. I get a sense she switched to a lifted system to reach her bowls better. Elizabeth tells me she had recently switched out her light blue water bowl and dark blue food bowl! I was able to tell Tissie the bowls were gone and her new bowls were on a platform to help her reach her food and water more easily. She accepted this. But I often run into pets being concerned when familiar objects are changed. I think it’s good information for everyone with an animal companion, that they become accustomed to their everyday objects just as we do, and they don’t necessarily desire change. I think it helps to talk through things with them beforehand. Then show them the new object when you bring it home and share excitement with them. I like to talk out loud to animals when in person and I know they gather information many ways and can sense our feelings and intent even if we only speak our language. I asked Tissie what she liked, what was her favorite thing to do with Elizabeth? She showed me a picture of her laying down on her side and Elizabeth laying down with her, behind her. Elizabeth pets and talks to her. Elizabeth confirms this happens throughout the day. Elizabeth wants to know if Tissie wants to keep going, because her condition is deteriorating. Tissie gives me the feeling of love and gratitude. She has a huge heart. She wants to stay with Elizabeth as long as she can.
